At Thoruplund we feel great responsibility contributing to reach the goals of the UN for sustainable development. We will continuously work on getting greener and more sustainable and urge our suppliers, customers and employees in this direction.  It is natural for us to focus on and prioritize the global goals 12 and 15 which are covering responsible consumption and production and also covering protection and recovery of terrestrial eco systems. We are very aware of goal 5 and 8 covering gender equality, decent work and economic growth.

For these reasons we have decided to work with the following goals of the UN:

Goal 5 and 8

We are proud of that we at Thoruplund contribute to achieve the goals 5 and 8 covering gender equality, decent work and economic growth. In Vietnam and Turkey, we create employment and economic growth locally by our contribution creating decent and satisfactory jobs for both women and men. Both nationally and internationally we empower and ensure the full participation of women in the job market, management and decision making. In Turkey the majority of employees are women, while women in Vietnam represent 50 % of the management. Over the year’s major steps have been taken to improve conditions of life and employment. We take responsibility when it comes to reducing poverty, ensure labor rights, equal payment, education, meals, transport etc.

Goal 12 and 15

For 3 generations we have prioritized the environment even before sustainability and recycling were common practice. Constantly we aim to become greener and to prepare our production chain for the future, which complies with the goals 12 and 15 covering responsible consumption and production, and the protection and recovery of terrestrial eco systems. We are working strategic on reducing our ecological footprint by changing the way vi produce and consume resources on a daily basis and for the future.
