Schlumbergera ‘Thor’®
New Generation – better than ever…..
Gartneriet Thoruplund has produced Schlumbergera since 1974. It originates from the mountains of Brazil in the rain forest and at an altitude of 800 metres. Schlumbergera is a popular pot plant in the dark autumn season and therefore has the common name November Cactus.
Schlumbergera has a much longer production period than most other pot plants. It takes a whole year from the leaves are being rooted in October/November before they are ready for sale. We produce Schlumbergera in 6 cm, 9 cm, 11 cm, 13 cm and 15 cm.
Gartneriet Thoruplund has many years of experience within the development of Thor types. Recent Thor development has focussed on producing bushier plants with smaller leaves, the New Generation series being a first-rate result of this process. New Generation is a compact and robust plant with wonderful brilliant colours throughout the autumn.
